Amanda Sadat, PMHNP-BC
Amanda has a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and a Master’s degree in Expressive Art Therapy from Lesley University. She offers medication management (prescribes medication). With almost two decades of experience she enjoys creating a strong therapeutic relationship with her patients. She is ANCC board certified and able to prescribe medication. Amanda has a holistic approach to mental health and well being. She utilizes and recommends complimentary and alternative medication when appropriate. With Amanda’s unique background she hopes to treat the whole person in a way that fosters health and happiness.
Amanda enjoys meeting with her patients and creating a warm and focused treatment environment. She specializes in working with ages 18 and beyond. Among Amanda's repertoire of past career accomplishments include: supervising a crisis team in Boston, MA, working with at risk children and families with in home care, providing consultation to nursing home medical staff regarding psychotropic medication care for the elderly in Seattle, WA, working in a women's clinic within a integrative model/medication provider in Central WA, she has worked in Emergency Room and Inpatient settings at University of Massachusetts, acute crisis stabilization and community mental health settings in Massachusetts. Amanda has worked in outpatient community health in Springfield, MA. Additionally, Amanda has treated patients with eating disorders in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Amanda specializes in mood and anxiety disorders such as: treatment resistant depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. Amanda is passionate about treating eating disorders, body image dysmorphic disorder and increasing positive self esteem in her patients. Additionally, she specializes in women's health including: prenatal and postpartum conditions including: postpartum depression and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Not every woman or pregnancy experience is the same. Amanda treats mental health symptoms related to chronic illnesses such as: autoimmune disorders, Crohn's Disease, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue.
Amanda's clinical interests also include: supporting mothers with planning pregnancy around medications, anxiety and sleep difficulties, marital issues including support through divorce, yoga, chronic illness and stage of life changes. Amanda is passionate about caring for the caregiver and encouraging rest! In addition she works with registered dietitians and experienced psychotherapists to create a collaborative environments for her patients to thrive. Amanda can write Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters. She has safely aided many patients with tapering off controlled substance such as benzodiazapines. She looks forward to meeting you!
